Former Fort Hays State University president Edward Hammond filed Friday as a candidate for Kansas House in anticipation of challenging Republican incumbent Barb Wasinger.

Dr. Edward H. Hammond filed as a Democratic candidate for the 111th District of the Kansas House of Representatives. The appropriate paperwork and filing fees were personally submitted to the Secretary of State’s office in Topeka by Hammond.
